Quality of Service Improvement with Optimal Software-Defined Networking Controller and Control Plane Clustering

The controller is indispensable in software-defined networking (SDN). With several features, controllers monitor the network and respond promptly to dynamic changes. Their performance affects quality-of-service (QoS) SDN. Every supports a set of features. However, support features may be more prominent one controller. Moreover, single leads performance, single-point-of-failure (SPOF), scalability problems. To overcome this, with an optimum feature must available for Furthermore, cluster will SPOF improve QoS Herein, leveraging analytical process (ANP), we rank SDN regarding their supporting create hierarchical control plane based (HCPC) highly ranked computed using ANP, evaluating OS3E topology. results demonstrated Mininet reveal that HCPC environment achieves improved QoS. experimental validated show our proposed approach surpasses existing distributed clustering (DCC) schemes terms metrics i.e., delay, jitter, throughput, load balancing, CPU (central processing unit) utilization.
